Southside Hospital's rehabilitation program offers outpatient rehabilitation services. The department features a New York state-designated adult brain injury program and offers an array of services for other conditions.

Southside Hospital is a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)-accredited site. CARF accreditation signals a service provider’s commitment to continually improving services, encouraging feedback and serving the community. Southside Hospital is CARF-accredited for

Outpatient rehabilitation

Treatment at the outpatient rehabilitation department at Southside Hospital is designed to increase function, decrease pain, and improve quality of life for patients following an accident, injury or illness.

The team of health professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and neuropsychologists, has specialized training and certification to provide services in the following areas:

Physical medicine and rehabilitation

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Southside Hospital is staffed with physiatrists—rehabilitation physicians who are nerve, muscle, and bone experts who treat injuries or illnesses that affect how you move and function. Our team of physiatrists brings the highest level of specialty training and will treat any disability resulting from disease or musculoskeletal/neurological injury. Our team focuses on the development of a comprehensive program for putting the pieces of your life back together after injury or disease.
